Bassinaud is our small hamlet in southwestern France, just 40 minutes south of the city of Angoulême. It is surrounded by fields and woodland and gently rolling countryside dotted with picturesque villages and small towns. Our nearest neighbours, and the nearest road, are more than 500m away, almost guaranteeing peace and quiet. Nearby Montmoreau has a supermarket, restaurants and a tabac and has a railway station connecting it to Paris in the north and Bordeaux in the south.

We have four cottages including our two-bed cottage Eiffel and three one-bedroom cottages, Piaf, Hallyday and Hugo. All are well-equipped with everything you need for a weekend break or a longer holiday. All but Hugo have air-source heat pumps which provide air-conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter. All have good Wi-Fi, sofa beds and well-equipped kitchens so you can prepare and enjoy the local produce.
Our large (10m x 5m) swimming pool is shared by our four cottages and has plenty of sun-loungers and parasols for everyone. It is open from late May until September. It isn't heated but warms up quickly in the summer sun.
