Bassinaud Players present ‘Round and Round the Garden’, a comedy by Alan Ayckbourn, at Bassinaud on 15th, 16th and 17th September at 7pm.

After the success of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in June, Bassinaud Players are proud to present an amateur production of Alan Ayckbourn’s ‘Round and Round the Garden’, part of the Norman Conquests trilogy of plays. First performed in the early 1970s, the play takes place in the somewhat neglected garden of a country house somewhere in the south of England.

When Annie decides she needs a weekend away she asks her brother Reg and his wife Sarah to come and look after their elderly mother. Annie is secretly planning a weekend away with Norman, her sister Ruth’s charming if rakish husband, but her plans start to go awry when Norman turns up at the house unexpectedly and bumps into Tom, the local vet, who holds a candle for Annie but doesn’t have the nerve to tell her.

This will be an outdoor production and, as before, audience members are welcome to come early and enjoy a picnic at Bassinaud before the performance. Also please bring a chair so that we can sit you in comfort. The performance will last approximately two hours, including an interval. Tickets are again free though we will be taking a collection after the event to cover the cost of licences, scripts and other expenses.
